Asus Transformer Book T100TA: Won't power on. Black screen

It was working next day nothing. When plugged in the orange light comes on. If I hold it down a white light then comes on, and flashes like 4 times. I have done all the holding power buttons down with no luck. How can I fix this problem? Thank you

Asus Transformer Book T100TA: My device says there is no audio output installed

My laptop is an Asus transformer T100TA Windows 8.1 32 bit operating system, x64 based processor.

So.. The other day, I was trying to install windows 10. While it was installing, the screen blacked out and it forced restarted several times. After it stopped restarting, it just cleared all of its data... Windows 10 was not installed... So it basically just factory reset itself... I don't want that happening again so I'm just going to keep Windows 8.

Now, to my problem.. The laptop can't play sounds anymore. When I hover my mouse over the speaker icon in the tool bars, it says "No audio output device is installed." I've spent so much time researching a solution but I've finally given up.

Any help is appreciated :)

Hey there,

The keyboard of the t100TA used to disconnect and connect again once a day when moved, but now it just stopped working for good. I first checked the keyboard and other t100s could recognize it fine, I updated the drivers, installed Windows again, nothing helps. I also opened the tablet to see if the keyboard connection had been disconnected, but nothing visible.

Anyone has any idea what I can do? I am not trying to find the part that should be replaced with no success so far...

Any help would be appreciated!

Asus Transformer Book T100TA: My screen won't come on even though fully charged

I have tried to charge my laptop for a while but it would not charge. Now that it is charged I the screen is not showing anything but the arrow. It will turn on but there is nothing showing up on the screen. Can anybody help me or direct me in the path of what I need to do?

Asus Transformer Book T100TA: Shorted caps on the main board - possibly liquid damage

What's up, iFixers :)

Found an old Asus Transformer Book T100TA laying around at home today - it belonged to my relative back in a day.

Tried to turn it on and it won't - only the amber LED next to the power button would blink.

Wen plugged into charge the device would take 1,76 A out of 2 amps that USB port could give

After a while battery gets insanely hot, so I disconnected the charger. Device still won't power on anyway.

At this point I decided to have a look inside - someone definitely been here before me - half of the screws are missing and I found that all of the caps I marked with red are all shorted to ground:

At the same time the caps I marked with blue are not shorted.

It could be a result of a liquid damage, because I found way too many traces of that on the keyboard, but could not really find anything obvious on the main board.

Just wondering what might be the cause of the short and if it's reasonable to fix the device just out of curiosity

So for the sake of convenience here are the images of the board on both sides:

And once again - I found that caps in the red area are shorted to ground and the ones in the blue are not:

~~And today I also found that these caps I marked with red circles are shorted (continuous with zero ohm resistance), so I believe the problem could possibly be one of them.~~

Wrong - after reassembly I, for one, found that whoever assembled this before forgot to connect an antenna and just hidden antenna wire under the main board, and second - those caps now do show some viable resistance, so I guess they are fine and maybe problem is with some chip.

Well after finding and reconnecting an antenna wire it all started behaving a bit differently - battery did take around 400 mAh if charge and then the tablet even worked on battery power, so battery is fine.

However both on cable and on battery power it only did blink an amber LED and did nothing else.

I kept investigating and found out that it's not the battery that gets hot - it's one of the chips on the bottom of the motherboard - the one marked with red

If we look closer - we'll see that there are two similar RAM chips and they are Hynix H9CCNNN8KTML BRNTM 338A.

Correct me if I'am wrong, but I don't think it's economically viable replacing those since I can't do that myself and will have to pay for the chips and the job to be done.

So let's just mark this as a "no fix" I guess :)

Asus Transformer Book T100TA: Why can't it wake up from hibernation?

My Asus T-100 running Windows 10 won't wake up from hibernation. It tells me to swipe to shut down computer and nothing happens. I ran down the battery, plugged in and then recharged. It's still stuck on hibernate. Any tips for rebooting?

Asus Transformer Book T100TA: Replaced the screen and there appears to be a watermark on it.

Hello! I replaced my screen on my Asus T100TA and it is working fine and everything (touchscreen works fine), but there seems to be some sort of large area on the screen that looks kind of like a watermark. When you use a suction cup it temporarily disappears to that tiny dot on the second picture (it also is lighter behind it), but after pressure is applied on the touch screen or the computer is closed it comes back. I was wondering if anyone knew about this issue and knows how to fix it. Thanks!

Asus Transformer Book T100TA: How do I replace the micro usb port? It will not desolder.

So I have an Asus Transformer Book with a broken charge port (micro usb) and already have a replacement in hand for it. However when I try to desolder it will not budge or even melt the solder. Keep in mind that I do not have a desolder pump or wick/braid. But my question since I'm a novice when it comes to soldering is, is this micro usb port soldered on in such a way that requires desoldering braid or a pump, or both?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Asus Transformer Book T100TA: I need a BIOS Rescue password for 2017/06/25

There is a box at start up asking for a password and I didn't set it up. It is my tablet but a "friend" thought it would be nice to have it password protected. Now, they cant remember what they entered. I was able to press ALT + R to get to Enter Rescue Password for 2017/06/25. I found this site http://pastebin.com/L3c3rySj# for reset codes but they don't go as high as today's date.. UGH! I tried and tried to enter a correct password, no go.

Does ANYONE have any ideas? Please? I appreciate any input.

Hello, my Son was given one of these but it sees the previous owner deleted all files including the OS and also has damaged the keyboard,,,

I want to try and load another OS but although I can get into the BIOS to make changes. ( Hold Power Down and Vol Up ) I can't save any changes.. Are there some secret Key presses..

I have tried to connect a USB micro keypad and large keyboard but they are not detected by the Pad if I reboot..

Asus Transformer Book T100TA: Change the t100 internal hard drive?

The biggest limit to the Asus t100 is its internal hard drive, which in my case is only 32 GB and this means I am limited from day one. So I was thinking, can I open the tablet, remove its internal hard drive, and replace it with a fast 128 GB MicroSD instead? I'm no technician but I don't see why that's not a great idea ;)!

P.S. Why not multiple MicroSDs?? ;D

Asus Transformer Book T100TA: Why is my Asus Transformer not turning on!?

Can anyone please help me. So i restarted my asus transformer t100 bc the local disk was full so i tried deleting the files on the local disk then i restarted it bc i dont have enough storage to update ios 9 on my ipad connecting to the laptop. When i restarted it i clicked the folder then the screen turn purple and then it faded into black. The small white light beside the camera is on and eventho i already tried clicking the power button it only flashed white light. I tried the techiniques given on othet forums and also i tried opening the back part itself and there is no clear plastic on what they are calling connectors but it doesnt work! Please help me :(
