Canon PIXMA MP480: How to store Ink Cartridges without Drying out?

I was wondering if anyone had any good methods for storing ink cartridges long term.

I just recently thought of using vaseline on the print head. I think this could work really well.

Anyone have a second opinion on that??

After replacing it with new cl 811 xl catridge, every time paper gets jammed. Pl help

Hi My Device is actually Canon TS3120 printer, When I select Black and white, the document is printing properly, but for the same document when I select colour, the complete document is printing intermittently like seeing the outside through window shades. I got new ink that is said to work with this printer, the 210XL and the 211XL. It has been in my garage gathering dust for quite some time now, and only recently did it start spewing this message the moment I try to use it again after some cleanup, with and without the ink in it. Anybody know a fix without having to send it to some Canon fix it shop?

I want to scan a letter to my PC. It goes as far as "Preparing" after I put the document on the platen glass. After awhile it reads again to put the document on the platen glass. How can I make it work ?
