Canon PowerShot SX120 IS: PowerShot SX70HS took about a 3 ft fall and now has an error 60 onLCD

After the fall not only does it display Error 60 on the screen, but the camera makes a horrible ratcheting sound for 3 - 5 seconds before it shuts down automatically. I believe the lens may have gotten jammed in the fall. Is there something I could do to reset the lens either electrically from the camera’s control menu or by some sort mechanical timing procedure?

Whenever I turn on my cannon camera the lens opens then closes and gives a e24 error. (The first error was a lens error)

As soon as the batteries are replaced and my Canon powershot SX120is is switched on,

while trying to take pictures the low battery signal appears flashing on the screen and the camera switches off automatically. I have tried with new batteries of the best quality i could find but the problem remains.

I have tried high priced batteries because the cheap ones died out fast and the high priced ones also die out fast. Does anyone have any answers for me on how or what I need to do to get the batteries to last longer. maybe a different type or brand...
