HP LaserJet CM1415fnw: New cartridge does not work - transport lock

I have this old, but decent printer and my ink was almost out. So I took a new cartridge (I have 2 originals stil in closed package) and removed the orange transport locks and shuffled the cartridge.
After putting it in, I get the error remove transport lock (or shipping locks, I don't know the exact word, my printer has Dutch language).
And I can't figure out what I can do to fix this. I swapped the chips from the old and the new, same result. And the old still works, but very bad prints since ink is almost out. I tried the other new one, same result.
Any ideas?

HP laserjet 4L: Why is my page smeared black after a paper jam in a laserjet 4L

An HP LaserJet 4L had a paper jam which was cleared by pulling out the sheet by the owner. Subsequent sheets however showed irregular variable black horizontal smudges with the test page text only just visible. A new cartridge didn't help.

I have taken the printer to pieces and cleaned surfaces and contacts, replaced 4 capacitors on the dc controller PCA (high esr), but the problem persists. Similar results with engine test.

Update (12/26/25)

Other things I have tried:

Removing the 45deg mirror to show that it was the laser causing the blackness. Yes, it did remove the blackness, but putting the mirror back did not bring back the blackness until a day or so later ( I did try to keep everything as dark as possible).

Another inconsistency was that after a rest of several hours, I found the text of the test page was not initially visible within the blackness, but was visible on the second and subsequent attempts.

Also noticed that the text repeats itself at 75mm (circumference of drum?) suggesting the image on the drum is not being erased.

My assumption is that it's the high voltage power supply that is failing and giving inconsistent results and has nothing to do with the original paper jam. How do I repair the HVPS, as I can't buy a new one.

Images show my printout and what it should look like.

HP Color LaserJet Pro M452dn: HP Color LaserJet Pro M452dn squeaks when warming up and printing

My HP Color LaserJet Pro M452dn printer squeaks when warming up and printing. This printer has four toner cartridges. The noise began a few months ago after I replaced the last two True Image third party toner cartridges with v4Ink third party toner cartridges. At this point, all four toner cartridges are from v4Ink. Sometimes, if I remove and reseat the last two v4Ink cartridges I installed the printer won't squeak when warming up and printing the first page but will start to squeak on the second and subsequent pages. The True Image toner cartridges have been recycled so I don't have a spare set of toner cartridges. The printer won't print unless all four toner cartridges are present.

Things I have tried recently.

Removing one toner cartridge at a time and letting the printer warm up. The printer will squeak.

Removing all four toner cartridges at the same time. The printer will not squeak. I don't know if this means the v4Ink toner cartridges squeak or if the toner cartridges engage gears in the printer itself and it's those gears that are squeaking. When there are no toner cartridges are there some internal gears that don't spin?

I looked at the gears of the v4Ink toner cartridges. I tried to turn them but there was resistance. I didn't try to force it.

What is the next best step in troubleshooting this? The toner cartridges are pretty full. For that reason, along with the $63 replacement price on Amazon, I'm hesitant to have that be the next step. However, in doing some web searches at least one user on another forum noted for a different HP printer model he fixed the squeak by replacing toner cartridges until he found the one that squeaked.

Could the problem be a gear or similar in the printer itself? If so, how easy is it to open up the printer and try and find that gear?

HP LaserJet: CP2025dn print fades in left to right (good on right 1/2 of page)

Am looking for experienced, preferably pro, printer tech advice. Printer was working fine, decided to clean before replacing toner carts. Per instructions from Service Manual and YouTube videos I removed the covers, the rear paper handling sub-assemblies, the cart drawer, unfastened the color misregistration sensor, removed the ITB. Then cleaned the ITB (belt, roller, brush) and printer interior cavity. Upon reassembly, the print fades in from left to right (none to a little black from left edge then fades to good print mid-page and onto the right edge, black and color). Doesn't matter what carts are used (the old and new). Same problem printing from a program or any printer generated reports. Diagnostic Page shows a lot of '00's, upper left and throughout where there should be non-zero hex data (Service Manual page 100). Triple checked the cal sensor is correctly installed per manual. No errors, passes HP Print & Scan Doctor tests. Doubtful it's the fuser as that wasn't touched. Event Log only showing the low toner in old carts. Before doing any swap-tronics, anyone seen anything like this?

LaserJet Pro 400 M401: Image ghosting - what caused this?

- OEM toner (refilled, chip reads used -- came with spare M401n). Ignore the splotch - it was a crappy refill but doesn't leak. I refuse to run it, but keep it as a tester. Someone dumped toner in it, hit override out, and ran it until it was printing like that.

- Aftermarket toner/v4ink(?)

I run an admittedly coverage-heavy document through my B/W printer due to the economics. However, when I ran it through the first time, it had weird ghost issues. I ran it through again, same issue. After the 2nd run, I pushed it through on the color printer (sort of begrudgingly) to check and it came out fine. This also occurred on an (admittedly refilled) OEM HP 80A which was original to the backup M401n I grabbed as a tester.

- halfway test

Are there any common faults other than the toner which causes this defect on the M401? I have not tried a new or even a new reman toner yet, since it only occurs on documents with heavy coverage most of the time. The reason I continue to run this is they are some of the last of the HPs before they added dynamic security and allowed you to run with a bad chip on the toner (with a supply error nag). The M402 killed that and added the JetIntelligence firmware blocks. I did order a cartridge, so it should be here soon for testing.

Update (12/23/2022)

My new toners will be here today -- again, it will be 3rd party.
