I bought a Leapfrog Leappad Ultimate at auction. It has a lock code that I don't know. Is there a way to bypass or reset without the passcode? 196 backspace 87 doesn’t work.

Hey there,

So I was wondering is there a way to work out what is actually the problem and causing the issue that seems to stop me setting up the device and downloading all the Games/Apps/Music/Movies etc on this new device. I cant seem to get the device connected to my computer. I cant seem to set up the device, or even reset the device to factory Re-set. I’m currently trying to work out what could be wrong with my sons device so that I can work on getting a idea of the cost to repair and they decide if that’s an option for me. Please if someone can help, give advice anything that could help work this Leap Frog Ultimate Device Problem Out, That would be so greatly appreciated.

I purchased a used leappad ultimate, it had some scratches in the center. they were deep enough to catch a nail and visible when powered on to a point of annoying. I started light, toothpaste, then magic eraser. Ultimately, i wet sanded with 2000 grit sandpaper, got it smooth, polished with Meguirs scratch X, then a magic eraser. Scratches are much less and not noticeable when powered on. screen feels smooth. BUT, there is a coating in the area that appears to have been removed, maybe an oleophobic coating. its duller in my repair area visibly. at the edges where the coating starts it is slightly noticeable when the device is on. I was wondering if anyone thought an oleophobic kit would fix this issue?
