Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen: Just got a Replacement Battery from iFixit put in, "Not Charging"

My Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon's battery was reporting that it was running at 81% of full capacity, so I decided to break down and order a new laptop battery. I knew about iFixit's reputability when it comes to DIY repairs, and it seemed like this would be a relatively easy swap considering my electrical background. Everything went according to plan, but now that it's in the laptop the upower command returns that the battery capacity is 0%, and when it's maximally charged it's still 0%.

Did I get a dud battery, or is there something obviously wrong with what I'm doing.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen: Display/ screen has failed many times

Hello, I have had this Gen 7 Lenovo Carbon X1 Since 2020. The details are below but the summary of this text is basically me asking if this model has screen/ display issues or if I've just had bad luck and should keep fixing it or give up altogether and buy a new laptop even though other than the display this one works incredible well.

A few months in to buying this brand new laptop off the lenovo website, the screen started failing, when I would try to turn it on, the screen would be black and the computer would make a noise. I sent it in a few times, and every time it'd be fine for a few days or weeks if I was lucky and fail again but since I had already sen t it in twice, they began ignoring my requests for repais until I upped my warranty and was able to actually talk to someone who told me they had never replaced the screen and sent a technician to my house to do so. By this time 3 years had passed and I had put the computer aside and bought another since it was unusable without an external display and I travel a lot so I needed a functional laptop. When the technician changed the screen, he didn't seal the bottom well, which I pointed out to him and he said this wasn't a problem. A year later the screen began failing again, but this time it's mostly flickers and has different color stripes go through it, and goes black and blue and pink and all the colors hahah, BUT I can jimmy it around and put pressure on certain points and it goes back to being perfect until I move it or touch it a certain way, or close it, and so I've been doing that for about 6 months. My dilemma now is that I would like to change the screen because I'm going abroad again and I don't want my screen which I rely on for work to die on me again overseas, but I don't want to invest in another screen if every screen I end up getting is going to be faulty. Is this a screen defect of this model or have I just had bad luck with these past 2 and the lenovo repair technicians?

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen: Laptop will not use Battery Power after Battery Replacement

Hello!

I just purchased a replacement battery from here and did a replacement. The laptop turned on just fine, and the battery was detected, so I began doing the calibration step by charging it to full. However, the laptop is unable to use battery power and shuts off immediately when the power cord is unplugged. It will not turn on at all if the cord isn't connected. Additionally, using Lenovo's utility to perform the battery calibration fails because the battery never drops below 100%.

I think there is likely something wrong with the battery because there is no other indication that I did anything wrong. Running the battery info utility in Windows' cmd and checking it in the Lenovo tool work perfectly, and it accurately shows the battery model number, number of cycles (just 1 because it's brand new), and capacity.

I also tried using the battery reset button under the chassis, as well as removing and reconnecting the battery to no avail. Are there any other steps I can try before sending the battery back?

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen: Broken display on Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen (20R1)

Hello! The display has stopped working. The issue happened because a child left a small Lego piece near the hinge of the laptop, and then tried to close the lid forcefully.
What’s unusual is that only one vertical segment of the screen stopped working — exactly one-fifth of the display.
Given this, I have a question: it seems like this might not be a problem with the LCD panel itself, but rather an issue with the cable. Is this possible, and how can I properly diagnose this type of malfunction?
Thank you!

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen: Ethernet adapter does not work.

My gen 9 x1 Carbon does not have an Ethernet Port, so I bought an USB Type-C to Ethernet adapter. I have used this adapter on 2 different laptops with no problems (Thinkbook gen2) but it does not work on my X1 Carbon. When I go into network settings I can only see WiFi and Bluetooth but no Ethernet. In device manager network tab there is nothing disabled.

I feel like I don’t need a driver for the adapter given the fact that it worked with no driver needed on other laptops. Do I need an Ethernet driver or some sort of other thing to enable Ethernet on my laptop or is my laptop not supporting Ethernet at all?

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 7th Gen: Replaced the screen.. I forgot to disconnect the battery.

I replaced my screen because of an annoying scratch (my fault) on the original one (followed the oem parts# supplied by Lenovo). After turning it on, nothing appeared on the panel, but the computer ran fine with an external monitor. Keyboard, trackpad, trackpoint, wifi and webcam all work

I tried plugging in my original scratched screen (which worked) and that doesn’t work now.

So I figure it’s the ribbon connector (I yanked too hard), and I even ordered the part from Encompass. Then I realized I forgot to unplug the battery! Assuming the replacement cable doesn’t work, how badly did I mess up? Is my screen nuked? Or did I trip some kind of fuse on the mainboard?

It’s a non-touch screen display btw. Not sure if that makes any difference.
