iPad Air Wi-Fi: 2 New LCD's will not turn on after LCD replacement?

I am replacing an LCD on an iPad air but once the new LCD is hooked up the device will not power on. To check to see if maybe the port on the motherboard got burnt out, I hooked up the cracked LCD and was able to power it on and off. I then figured that the new LCD itself was bad. SO I returned that one and ordered a new one and the same issue persists. I tried holding the home button and power button as well. Any ideas?

iPad Air Wi-Fi: Home button feels sunk in and sticks

I replaced the screen on my first iPad Air ever. Before closing it up I did the usual QA check. And after closing it up I did it again. All was well on my bench. Two days later the customer contacts me to tell me that the home button was sunkin and sticking. Sure enough when he brings it back to me, it's sunk. I removed the screen and compared it to the old one (which thankfully I had not tossed yet) and there was a missing cushion. I replaced the cushion and sealed it again. I test it and it works fine. Call the guy to come get it and show it to him while he is there.

He calls me an hour or so later and says it still has the same problem. So I offer to replace the screen at no cost to hime. I order from a different company and make sure that I odrdered the screen with home button installed!!!!

I put the new screen in and transfer the cushion. Sure enough after a day of usage, the fellow calls me AGAIN and says the same thing is happening.

I know this person, not that well, but we travel in the same circles so I know he's not putting one over on me or anything like that. The problem is legit.

Anyone else have such a problem with an iPad Air? What did you do to resolve it?

Thanks,

iPad Air Wi-Fi: Dark spots on left side of LCD from top to bottom?

Dark spots on left side of LCD from top to bottom evenly spaced? They are not lines, its not a broken lcd, and its not a faulty lcd, a new one has the same spots. My only guess is maybe a backlight fuse? but the other 99% of the lcd is fine. It looks like only part of the back light is not lighting up. They are spaced about 1cm apart and go no deeper than 1cm into the lcd from the frame. And all the dark spots are identicle. Thanks! second time ive seen this, and anyone that can repair it?

iPad Air Wi-Fi: Replaced cracked screen. Ipad now doesn't turn on.

I have attempted a repair on an iPad Air with a cracked screen. Prior to starting the repair, the iPad worked with the cracked screen. After the repair, which went flawlessly, the iPad would not turn on. If I connect the iPad to iTunes, iTunes recognises the iPad but says that the iPad is locked and must be unlocked before doing anything else.

At this point, I assumed I had purchased a dud digitizer on eBay and ordered a new one from ifixit. That arrived this morning and I repeated the repair procedure... with the same result.

At this point, I am assuming that I must have somehow damaged the LCD screen during the repair. Before I go ahead an order an LCD screen though, I would like to know:

is that a reasonable assumption?

are there any tests I could perform to confirm this diagnosis?

iPad Air Wi-Fi: Are there new magnets in the iPad Air unibody frame?

I have noticed some added magnetism on the side of the unibody case opposite the Smart Cover hinge. And I can see the new magnets in some of the iPad Air tear down pics. These magnets add functionality when using a Smart Cover. The cover no longer dangles lifelessly when folded around to the back of the iPad Air, now it stays flat and snug to the case thanks to these new magnets. Not the case in previous generations.

If I had to guess I would say we will also see some new accessories from Apple taking advantage of this added magnetic mounting point. Especially when you consider some of Apple's recent patents like these http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-ap....

My company makes bamboo cases for iDevices http://www.PEACHii.com. And we offer our iPad cases with and without smart cover compatibility. We would appreciate some details on these new magnets. A breakdown similar or the iPad 2 Smart Cover teardown you guys did in the past would be awesome and much appreciated. Also a teardown of the new iPad Air Smart Cover would be great. Thanks

iPad Air Wi-Fi: Dead spot after digitizer replacement?

Hi everyone,

i recently smashed my IPad Air's front screen and tried to do the replacement by myself following your guide.

After fitting everything back together I was excited to see that it seemed to work again.

It took me a while to realize that I now have a dead spot of about a square inch in the top left corner of the screen. The screen doesn't respond to touch in that area.

All the other parts of the screen are working perfectly fine.

What are the chances that disassembling and reconnecting the digitizer fixes the problem? Or is a problem like this usually an indication for a defective digitizer?

iPad Air Wi-Fi: iPad screen 'ghost touching' even worse after attempted repair

My iPad would sometimes sporadically ghost touch the screen during use. After searching I tried following the advice on Digitizer activating itself after digitiser replacement. Unfortunately it seemed to make things worse with the screen now very frequently ghost touching. I also must have not put the home button back on correctly as it won't click when pressed like normal. I put Kapton tape on the edges of the digitizer and then replaced the adhesive pads. I didn't remove the LCD panel so a small part of one of the adhesive pads had to go over the cable connecting the digitizer to the LCD but it didn't look like that would cause an issue. Did I put too much tape on? Is there something else I should have been watching for that could cause worse ghosting? Thanks for the help!

iPad Air Wi-Fi: Boot Loop Red Screen, starts and crashes.

I replaced the digitizer, it went flawless. But I had accidentally cut the home button flex when closing up. No big deal I just took it off and used the old flex. All was fine. After sealing it, reconnecting the battery, I forgot to unplug it from the computer from when I finished last time. So I just unplugged it and it seemed fine. After I closed the screen, I pressed the power button and noticed the Apple logo and all, looked normal. Then, it flashes BRIGHT red, then crashes. Then it starts, RED FLASH, crash. It’ll do that all day if it could. Now I did a lot of research and tried to restore it, I get the infamous 4013 error. So before I just trash it, is it the charging port or is it the NAND chip? I watched iPad Rehab say that NAND chips can cause the error, but others say it can be a port problem.

Do you think the port somehow fried because I left the iPad connected to a computer during battery removal and reconnection? Or did the NAND chip get fried?

I offered my client to take my iPad Air as a replacement, they refused. I should’ve been smarter, I feel really hadn’t for them, and kinda what to know if it’s just the port so maybe I can solder a new one on.

Things I’ve tried,

Dr. fone

3uTools

DFU Restore

Recovery Restore

I’ve removed all the external connections, like power, home, digitizer, antennas and LCD and tried to restore. But the Hardware error still occurs.

Nothings been able to revive it.
