How does the Neo's trackpad mechanical click work?

I have seen a couple videos describing the Neo's trackpad as mechanical with a single central button, but do not have a grasp on how corner clicks are directed to that button.

Does anyone have clear photos of the mechanism?

And is touch input captured using the same Broadcom chip as the other Mac/iPhone products?
