Background
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 was announced on September 9, 2025 during Apple's "Awe Dropping" event, along with the Apple Watch Series 11 and iPhone 17 models.
Compared to Apple Watch Ultra 2, the Ultra 3's screen has brighter viewing angles. The display is 12 pixels wider and taller (422 by 514 pixels vs the Ultra 2's 410 by 502 pixels) and has slightly slimmer bezels.
The battery life is increased to 42 hours (six more than the Ultra 2). The Ultra 3 introduces 5G and two-way satellite connectivity for off-grid messaging and SOS.
New software features include health features like hypertension alerts, sleep scoring, and AI-driven fitness coaching.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 comes in Natural and Black Titanium, and starts at $799.
Identification
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is physically identical to its predecessors. The main way to identify it is with the model number.
The model number is etched inside the Ultra 3's top watch band slot. The model number is also found in the Settings > General > About section on either the watch, or the corresponding iPhone Watch app.
