Kyocera DuraSport 5G Repair

Released on November 11, 2021, the Kyocera DuraSport 5G (Model#:C6931) is a rugged phone with identifiable features such as a Push to Talk button, Backside Fingerprint sensor, and a SIM/microSD card slot.

It is built with an easily identifiable, rugged waterproof design. It includes 5G connectivity with dual band (L1/L5) GPS. By default, the device includes a standard 2-year warranty if replacement is needed.

The number of devices sold is not publicly available at this time. The device was originally sold for $579.99, however in more recent years the price has decreased. Amazon is currently selling this device for $150 with a review of 3.5 out of 5 stars. This is the more budget option when compared to the rest of the phones released in its family. The Kyocera DuraForce Ultra 5G is a more expensive version released prior, boasting a slightly larger screen as well as more storage space. This was later improved by the Kyocera DuraForce PRO 3 released in September of 2023.

Known issues for this device include its battery life, as well as its overheating and screen freezing. This has resulted in the device dropping in popularity as its only real function has been compared to simply being durable. There is no record of a specific recall for the Kyocera Sport 5G, but Kyocera has had previous recalls for other models due to battery issues that could cause overheating and a burn hazard.

The device is easily identified by the Kyocera logo on the back of the device, the device’s rugged design, two cameras on the top corner of the back, and a Fingerprint sensor above the logo.
