The iPhone 14 Pro was announced on September 7th, 2022, and released the week after on September 16th. As the "smaller" sibling to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, it features a 6.1" Always-On display but the same new A16 Bionic chip. Compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 13 Pro, this model’s Pro Camera System has a 48 MP main camera and a larger aperture across. The Pro-line’s Dynamic Island hides the top sensors and facetime camera.

Being a tad thicker (.2 mm/.01 in) and taller (1 mm/.03 in) than the iPhone 13 Pro, it also comes with a larger battery.

You can identify the iPhone 14 Pro by the one of the following model numbers printed on the inside back of the Lightning (charge) port. Flip the iPhone over (with the screen facing away from you) to see it.

You can also find the model number through the phone's UI by going to the Settings app and navigating to General > About. Tap on the number listed in the Model Number section and it should change to a format that looks like the numbers above.

The iPhone 14 Pro features a 6.1 in (diagonal) flat glass screen, thin black bezels, and a new "dynamic island" at the top of the screen to accommodate sensors and the front facing camera. The back cover is glass and the edge frame is made from flat stainless steel.

Volume controls and the SIM tray can be found on the left edge while the power button is situated on the right. A rectangular camera "bump" containing three cameras in a triagonal layout protrudes slightly from the back case. This model has no home button.

The iPhone 14 Pro can be differentiated from the iPhone 14 Pro Max by the 6.1 in screen (relative to the 6.7 in screen on the Pro Max model).
