Introduction

Since Sony will no longer be supporting their "Personal Internet Viewers" as of July 2017, it's time to take a look inside.

This teardown is not a repair guide. To repair your Sony Dash (HID-C10), use our service manual.

    • The front side of the PCB has lots of stuff.

    • Sigma Designs SMP8652A-CBE3 "Secure Media Processor"

Watching over the surgeon’s left shoulder with great interest. Just bought a SONY DASH HID-C10 at a thrift store for $5 and I’d love to do something interesting with it. Will wait for the doctor’s report before I attempt anything unwise…
