Causes

Your device could be overheating due to using the device for extended periods of time or being in a hot environment. You can try the following.

  • Take a break
  • Leave the phone in a cool environment

The battery is aged by time or has external damage from outside sources. Causing the device to not hold a charge or not turn on. Check the battery for the following.

  • Visible damage
  • Run down battery

The charging port could stop working properly due to the following.

  • Dust build-up
  • Bent pins
  • Corroded pins

If the charging port is dusty, you can blow air into the port until the dust is removed. If there is a pin problem, you may need to replace the entire charging port by following this guide.

Overheating causes permanent damage to internal parts causing devices to be unresponsive or have problems with usage. Follow part of this guide until you can see the mother board to check it for the following.
