I'm getting a transmission failure on the dashboard and the gear stick is moving freely

My 2.7 auto is in limp mode and wont rev above 2000 rev what could be the problem

@muckybri there are just way to many things that can cause this., The only way to narrow it down is by getting the OBDII scanned.
