Squealing/Sqeaking in left bud

My left earbud has a repetitive squealing/squeaking sound when used in either noise cancelling mode. If i turn off NC, the sounds goes away. The volume in the left side also seems quieter. I have had this issue once before more than a year ago when they were under warranty where I sent them in for successful repair (or whatever they did). I suspect that earwax builds up inside the buds under the protective screen over time but can't verify without removing the screen. I'm willing to do some disassembly if it might fix them. Any suggestions?

I had this exact problem in my right earbud. There are 3 mesh grilles on the outside, the top two are used for noise cancellation mics. I assumed the consistent squeaking was because of microphone feedback caused by earwax or sweat buildup, so I cleaned them out with isopropyl alcohol, and the problem got slightly better, but didn't go away entirely.

It wasn't until I used isopropyl alcohol on the speaker mesh, the one inside the tip. I just got some paper towel with 93% IPA, dabbed them a bit, then blew it out with some pressurized air, and now they're back to normal.

Thank you very much. It works for me perfectly. In my case, I think my sweat during running flooded the ear buds, causing the issue.

I had the same problem on my right earbuds which was driving me mad. I just disconnected the buds from my pixel phone and used the forget device option. Added the device again and set it up with the pixel buds app and now both the earbuds are working just fine with nc or transparency mode.

I was able to fix this by re running the Eartip Seal Check on The Pixel Buds App.
