What is the model and year of the vehicle?
An EPC light indicates that there is a problem with the Electronic Power Control for the engine.
Get the vehicle's OBDII port scanned to see if any codes have been logged.
These are error codes that will tell you what the problem is.
If you're in the USA a lot of the larger auto parts stores e.g. AutoZone will do this for free apparently.
