2013 pathfinder alternator keeps dying over and over again
I have a 2013 pathfinder that just eats alternators it has ate 5 in my ownership so far I have used good Nissain full install for $1900, $3-400 dollar o'reilly alternator, now I’m just using ones from a salvage yard but they all last the same amount of time also it’s not the bearings that go bad (like from too tight serpentine belt) it’s the actual electricity go make make. I hooked my code reader up to it it was sitting at like 11.3-11.8 volts then it would spike up to the normal like 13.4-14.5 range then go back down please tell me why I’m done with this thing
Is this a good question?

Hi @alexisjohn70113
As the ECM controls how the alternator functions perhaps get the OBDII port scanned to check if there are any error codes pertaining to the alternator or the ECM e.g. P2500, P2501, P2503, P0603.
Also check that the alternator has a good earth connection.
If you're in the USA then major spare parts retailers e.g. AutoZone, PepBoys, O'Reilley's do this for free apparently

Only has codes for the exhaust and it has a good ground (I checked when probing around yesterday before I took it out)
