Nintendo 3ds - Cannot display the software on the SD Card

Like the title says my 3ds started giving me this error after i removed the sd card i have always used on it since 2011

I've used the card on a computer and its working fine,even formatted it to fat32 to make sure it wasnt a software issue but still gives me this error,tried a new sd card but same result

I've opened the console up and cleaned the sd card slot pins with isopropyl alcohol and tried to make sure the pins were okay but the issue still persists

Also used some compressed air to maybe remove dirt from inside the card reader I've already ordered a sd card reader for the console but im wondering what other options i have,any ideas?

Hi!

You have tried a lot, so the most likely thing would be a faulty SD card reader. Since a new one gave the exact same issue.. and you tried even a new SD card.

May I ask for the capacity of SD cards you are using?

hey there!

I have tried 3 different cards, 2 kingston ones with 32 Gb's and one toshiba card of 2 gigabytes, all of them formatted to Fat 32

Im just waiting on the sd card readers to arrive (i bought 2 just in case lol) and ill be sure to report back!

Alright! Hopefully that will solve it :)! I recommend to try 8GB ones as well if possible. But 32GB and 2GB should work. Hopefully the SD card reader replacement will solve it! Thanks!

bit of an update, the new card reader arrived and its working with all the cards now

problem is that the part is poorly sodered and the reader is a bit sideways meaning i can't close the console LMAO

Oh my.. well at least now you know that it was the reader for sure! I would return it and ask for a refund. Then get a better quality one somewhere else! Glad that it is solved so far haha.
